Why We Built This
Most calming diffusers on the market were designed to be cheap to make and easy to market.
A heated coil. A vial of synthetic pheromones. A box that says "clinically proven." Plug it in, wait 30 days, hope for the best.
That formula works fine for the companies selling it. It works less well for the cat owner who comes home to a fresh puddle next to the diffuser they've been running for three weeks.
We looked at what people were actually saying. Not the five-star reviews brands put on their own websites. The Reddit threads at midnight. The one-star reviews that read like someone finally snapping. The person who watched their Feliway unit leave a greasy streak down their freshly painted wall. The person whose cat sprayed directly onto the plug.
The pattern was hard to miss.
The hardware ran hot because hot hardware is cheaper to engineer. The formula took weeks because synthetic pheromones take weeks. The wall damage happened because nobody redesigned the diffuser head after the first version shipped. These weren't accidents. They were decisions nobody bothered to revisit because the product still sold.
We decided to revisit them.
The result costs us more to produce. The cool-touch unit runs at 5 watts. The botanical formula targets the GABA pathway — the same neurological mechanism your vet reaches for when nothing else is working — which means it starts working in hours, not a month from now.
We could have gone the cheaper route. The margin would have been better.
We didn't, because the cheaper route is what everyone else already built.
If it had worked, you wouldn't be here.
